Zircon from the Bigmouth pluton, Selkirk Mountains, BC. Central core of inherited Proterozoic (~1.811 Ga) zircon, with outer igneous Middle Jurassic (~166 Ma) oscillatory zoning. Note very subtle oval depression made by Ion Microprobe analysis (SHRIMP) in lower, mid-right section of the striped core.
